Do I really need a wedding coordinator?
The advantage of having a wedding coordinator is to take the stress of organizing your wedding off your hands. Cabarete Weddings can provide you with tips, ideas, give you advice, keep you organized, schedule meetings and appointments for you, plan and track your budget and ensure a successful wedding. Ultimately you do not need a coordinator but, having one makes life a whole lot easier.

What is the best time to come to Cabarete and the Dominican Republic?
The weather in the Dominican Republic is tropical and comfortable year round. It tends to rain a more during the winter months, however, weddings are performed year round.

What papers are required for weddings in the Dominican Republic?
The first step towards getting your Marriage Certificate is that CABARETE WEDDINGS registers you to be married with the Official del Estado Civil (City Clerk). For U.S. citizens, it is not necessary to get a marriage license in order to get your Marriage Certificate in the Dominican Republic. You need a minimum stay of 3 days in the Dominican Republic prior to your wedding.

The following valid documents must be submitted for registration:
Passports - Birth certificates - Single Status Affidavits that have been translated by an official Translator into Spanish at the Dominican Consulate where the document was issued.
If divorced, the person(s) will require Divorce Certificate(s) that have been translated by an official Translator into Spanish and legalized at the Dominican Consulate where the document was issued.

You will be required to have two witnesses to your marriage, besides the person who will perform your marriage ceremony. If these witnesses are not Dominican Republic residents, they will require Passports to verify their identity.

Civil Ceremonies: Once the marriage takes place, the Justice of the Peace that performs your Civil Ceremony will need to provide documentation proving the marriage was performed to the Oficialia del Estado Civil. The Oficialia del Estado Civil will then issue you a Marriage Certificate, called "Extracto de Acta Matrimonial". After that the document needs to be legalized of the "Junta Central Electoral" and the "Cancilleria" in Santo Domingo, in order to have it accepted everywhere in the world - needless to say that Cabarete Weddings can take care of that too.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We are checking in with weather forecasts daily. If we know for certain that rain will be heavy throughout the day, we have several options depending on your wedding style. Or we can have your wedding in the rain with umbrellas.

How do you charge for your services?
For planning or assisting a wedding ceremony, we charge a coordination fee of US$ 400 plus 20% of the vendors wholesale prices,
plus the costs for the registration at the city clerk and all legal fees for the marriage certificate.
The Cabarete Wedding coordination fee includes unlimited Email or phone consulting, creating a wedding plan, hiring and confirming the vendors and to be on location at your ceremony for up to 1.5 hours. To coordinate a ceremony with dinner reception we charge an additional US$ 300.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa/Master Card or banc wire on our various banc accounts either in the U.S. or Europe.

What are your deposit, forms of payment and cancellation policies?
A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to book your wedding day. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your wedding day. Cancellation in less than 15 days prior to the event will be charged 50% of the total balance. Cabarete Weddings is only responsible for the coordination of vendors and services that we have hired. Vendors and services that are hired by anyone other than Cabarete Weddings are not the responsibility of Cabarete Weddings.
